Bible story

We do this once a week during the week end!

Book of Genesis: Chapter 1(Children's Version)In the beginning...
In the beginning there was no earth or sky or sea or animals. And then God spoke in the darkness: “Let there be light!” And right away there was light, scattering the darkness and showing the infinite space. “That’s good!” said God. “From now on, when it’s dark it will be ‘night” and when it’s light, it will be ‘day’.”
The evening came and the night passed and then the light returned. That was the first day.
On the second day, God made the earth and over it He carefully hung a vast blue sky. He stood back and admired His creation. “That’s good too!” said God and the second day was over.
The next morning God looked around and thought, “the earth needs to be a bit more organized.” So, He put all the water in one place and all the dry land in another. When He had finished that, God made plants to cover the land. Dandelions and daffodils appeared. All sorts of trees and grasses began to grow. “It’s looking great”, said God and that was the end of the third day.
On the fourth day, God looked around and though, “the daylight still needs a bit more work and the night is just too dark.” So, He made the sun to light the sky during the day and the moon and stars to add a bit of sparkle to the night. He hung them in the sky and stepped back to look at his work. “This is coming along very well,” said God.
The next day, God turned his attention to the water he had collected in the oceans. “I want these waters teeming with life!” As soon as He said it, it was so. In no time, there were millions of small fish darting through the shallow water and huge fish swimming in the ocean. God made birds, too. He sent them soaring through the air. “Ahh, that IS good!, “said God. The dusk fell over the water and the sky grew dark and that was the end of the fifth day.
On the sixth day, God added creatures to the land. He made lions and tigers and bears. He made rabbits and sheep and cows. He added everything from ants to zebras to the land. But He still felt something was missing. So God added Mankind to enjoy and take care of all that He had created. God looked around and was happy with all He had made.
After six days, the whole universe was completed. On the seventh day God had a nice long rest and enjoyed looking at all He had made.

'B' Week

'B' WEEK

Baby
WHAT WE DID

ACTIVITIES: Sharon had fun playing with Bubbles.

BODY: We picked our Backs as the body part for B week. We did some simple exercises stretching our backs and then Mommy gave Sharon a Back rub.

CRAFTS:
Photo frame: We glued baby photos in one of the frames put a recent picture next to her baby picture to compare.
Made baby foot prints: METHOD:Have the child make a fist. Apply paint to the side of their fist closest to the pinky finger. Have them press their fist to a piece of paper. That will make the main part of the foot. Now using their index finger dipped in paint, make the five small toes.

Collage: We cut out pictures of babies from magazines. Asked Sharon to describe what the baby was doing, what it looks like and made up a story about the baby. I wrote what Sharon said about the picture and read it back. We circled the word ‘baby’.
Memory Handprint:
What You Need:
1 Cup Flour
1 Cup Salt
Water
Food Coloring (optional)
What You Do:
Mix flour and salt, add enough water to get a firm clay-like mixture. Remove 1/2 cup of dough and press it into a circular shape on a lightly greased cookie sheet. It should be large enough for a child's hand or foot to fit onto with the fingers or toes spread out. Push child's hand or foot firmly into dough. Let dough dry for several weeks or put in oven at 225 degrees for 2 to 4 hours, depending on the thickness of the dough.

Made the B template so that she can learn the alphabet

LANGUAGE: Talked to her about the letter Bb. Told her that ‘Baby’ starts with the letter B. Then I made her spell the word ‘Baby’ that I had hung up.
Read her a nice story about Baby.
Finger and Pencil Tracing
Got a book from library and read a nice story for her about being a big sister.
Showed this story to Sharon

MUSIC / SMALL MUSCLE:
Listened to you tube song
http://youtube.com/watch?v=PQfNfJSRajA

SCIENCE /LARGE MUSCLE:
GAME
Had her crawl like a baby.

SCIENCE:
We talked about diapers and their use. I explained that the "fluffy stuff" helps absorb the liquid. I took apart a new disposable diaper and let the children feel "fluff". I then put some of the stuff in a tall drinking glass or vase, about 1/3 full compressing it down. I slowly poured water into the glass, adding about 1 cup. I then slowly turned the glass over asking "Where did all the water go?" Gave it to her so she could feel it.
Baby Sensory
Brought in baby oil, baby lotion and baby powder. Let Sharon apply it for baby.

FOOD: Go bananas
